Attach a ReFoundMe QR code

From your laptop, bike, or water bottle to toys, wallet, clothes, keys, or backpack — make everything you don’t want to lose instantly findable in our network.

Registrer your items
Link your items in the app with a name, photo, and category, and decide how and with whom contact can be made. Manage all your items centrally in your item wallet. When your item is found, you’ll receive location updates and messages from the finder or a ReFoundMe Hub straight to your inbox.

Activate the app

1. Accept the terms and conditions

We take your privacy seriously. More information can be found on our website.

2. Enter your phone number

This is linked to your account.

3. Enter the verification code

You will receive a 6-digit code via SMS; you can request a new one when you log out.

4. Allow the app to access your location

This way the app knows where the items were created.

Add items

1. Create a new item

Go to the Items menu and tap the button in the top right corner to add a new item.

2. Set up your item

Add a photo, category, and a message for the finder.

3. Pair aReFoundMe QR code.

Choose your durable ReFoundMe tag here, or create a digital code (the first three are free).

4. Attach the QR code to your item.

Ensure the code remains clearly visible and scannable with a camera.

5. Kies notificatiemethode en contactpersonen

Wil je naast app-notificaties ook een SMS? Contactpersonen krijgen automatisch een SMS.

6. Selecteer contactpersonen

Let op: alleen mobiele nummers ontvangen een SMS bericht.

Is your item found?

1. Item found notification

As soon as someone finds your item, you will receive a notification with the location (if it is shared).

2. Incoming call

You receive a call via the ReFoundMe app with information about the relevant item.

3. Message from the finder

Receive messages from the finder in your inbox. If a phone number has been left, you can call directly using your regular phone connection.

4. Item checked in at a Hub

You receive the Hub location. Choose to pick up or waive ownership; if waived, the item will be erased.

5. Digital collection code

Show the digital code at the Hub to pick up your item. You can find this at the top of your item details.

6. Share your digital collection code

Let a friend, family member, or colleague pick up your item by sharing your code.

How the finder can help you:

When someone finds your lost item, they can scan the QR code using their phone’s camera.

The finder’s menu appears immediately in their browser — no ReFoundMe app needed. It works worldwide on any smartphone or tablet and is available in 6 languages.

The finder can help you in 3 ways:

Call anonymously
The finder can quickly contact you via the internet without sharing their phone number.

Send a message
The finder can send a text message and choose to share their phone number so you can call back.

Drop off at a ReFoundMe Hub
If the finder doesn’t want to make contact, they can leave the item at a ReFoundMe Hub. You can then pick it up using the digital ReFoundMe code in your app.

About Us

Imagine this: you find someone else’s lost item and want to return it. But where do you go? Will it reach the owner? You try your best — through a neighborhood app, social media, or at the counter of a school, sports club, during an outing, or while traveling.

For the owner, searching is often confusing and stressful, especially when the lost item has emotional value. Meanwhile, piles of found belongings remain untouched simply because there’s no good system in place. Everyone means well, but no one knows what to do.

That’s why we started ReFoundMe.
